Recap: Our Collaboration Workshop

collaborate for the better workshop

As part of the first ever Design Week Portland, we hosted a workshop in our studio that we called “Collaborate for the Better”.

Attendees were partnered up with each other to create a fictitious brewery and the company’s first bottle design/beer style. There were a mix of professions that participated in the event including illustrators, designers, apparel designers, photographers, account managers, and more. At the end of the designated time, teams presented their work. Instead of their presentations being just about the work itself, the discussions were focused on how they collaborated together: How did they work together? What were some of the challenges? Would you work with that person again?

In the end, we had many positive and eye-opening conversations about working together with others and what it truly means to collaborate. Our studio’s main principal is collaboration and it was so much fun seeing everyone as excited to work with others as we are every day.

Special thanks to Hopworks Urban Brewery for providing the beer.
Jolby intern Lea Loo for all of her help (and for the photos).
Everyone who helped make Design Week Portland possible.
