The Triforce is Strong In This One

Via PwnLove: Think you know Legend of Zelda? Well, prove it at Triforce Trivia Night at Ground Kontol on Sunday, April 29th at 7pm. The curators of Triforce Tribute, Jolby, mentioned the idea of Zelda trivia so I teamed up with Fangamer and OTL Gaming teamed up to host this epic event. Jolby & Museum of Contemporary Craft & ADX

Join us on Tuesday April 10th at Portland’s Museum of Contemporary Craft! We will have a few pieces that we produced at ADX hanging in the museum and a lucky few (19 exactly) will get to paint and keep their very own “Go Surf Yourself” wave! We made those waves at ADX and they produced a few more just for you. How cool is that? We love ADX & MoCC. So, come hang out with us, get some paint on your hands, and listen to us ramble. Entry fee for the museum is $4.

Triforce Tribute Recap

We had such a blast co-curating The Triforce Tribute art show with Always With Honor (aka Tyler & Elsa Lang). The show opened Friday March 9th starting with over 70 people lined up in front of the gallery. These eager fans had camped out the night before to secure an Olly Moss print. Pretty nuts that people would stand in line for artwork, and inspiring all the same. The local news even covered it.

So many awesome people showed up to the opening night including a handful of the participating artists and all night we celebrated Zelda while listening to an original soundtrack crafted by Piasa. We want to thank all of the incredible artists involved, Pat & Amber at Land for letting us curate such a nerdy show, Tyler & Elsa for being awesome collaborators, and everyone who attended (especially the campers)!

AIGA Now Here Conference: UW-Stevens Point

We’re heading out this weekend for another talk in the Midwest! The AIGA chapter at the University of Wisconsin Stevens-Point has invited us out to speak at the Now Here Design Conference to design professionals and students about collaboration, our process, and how to juggle many things at once and staying sane through all of that.

We Make PDX: Sketch X Change with Us!

Join us in Portland for a night of sharing our process and drawing! We Make is hosting a night called SketchXChange where the two of us will be talking about our process, showing off some sketches (old and new), and drawing with attendees. Registration is limited so get in there!

What is sketchXchange?
A chance to peep into the sketchbooks of some of our favorite local illustrators, hear what inspires their work and learn about the process they use to create. Bring your own sketchbook, mingle, have a beverage and draw in a few sketchbooks. There are no rules or themes unless you have one for your book. Just pens, pencils, sketchbooks and friends. This isn’t a slide show event, guest illustrators will be sharing their actual sketchbooks and you’ll have an opportunity to purchase some of their work.
So come join us for an intimate night amongst friends drawing. If you come to enough SketchXChanges you could potentially have a whole sketchbook filled with illustrations by many people in our community. One lucky participant will even get a drawing done in their sketchbook by the guest illustrator! Yay!

While we were busting our buns on “Shapes & Smiles” we began planning another art show as an excuse to collaborate with our awesome pals Tyler and Elsa aka Always With Honor. Being the avid gamers we are, we thought what a better subject matter than the Legend of Zelda. The show opens at Land Gallery in Portland on March 9th and features over 30 amazing artists. It’s here! The King’s 6th Finger is now available in hardcover through Ginkgo Press. This new edition sports a hardcover, new art pages, and a slightly revised ending (the wording, but not what happens). We’ve been told they’ve been spotted in a lot of shops all over including the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego and the Walker Art Center in MPLS. Check your local book store to see if they carry it or watch our Etsy for a way to buy it straight from us!
